Laundry detergent and a home made gift

Why making laundry detergent yourself instead of buying it? It's cheaper, more fun and has no chemicals

What does one need?
80 gram Marseille soap or Sunlight soap
5 liters of water
A pan and a jar
A grater
A big spoon

First you start with grating your soap. My soap block from the supermarket is about 150 gram, so I know I need about half of it.
Warm up 1 liter of water and dissolve the soap in it. NEVER EVER let it boil, the water should be warm.

So after a while of regular stirring and a lot of patience you will see the result. Add 4 liters of cold water and warm it trough.
Now you can do two things:either let it cool down completely overnight and poor it in your container the following morning, or poor it in your container when it is luke warm. That is what I did this time, and I poored in too quickly: hence the foam

Don't forget to shake gently every time you would like to use it. Usually once up and down is enough. It will be a thicker liquid.

So, the 2nd thing I was going to post: a hand made gift. For now I will post the link where I found the tutorial. A few years back, whilst living in Austria someone gave this gift to me and now I am making it for my husband.
Martina has her creative blog and she created a nice how to in German. Let me know if you would like this in English, still have some supplies  left to create a tutorial.

Where to begin...

Where to begin...
My husband challenged me at the beginning of our marriage to discover my talents.
This was October 2010. What I did in the past year and half?
Learning to live with little money
Creating and making my own jewelry

Perfecting my baking skills

Learning to design, remodel and make bags
Improving crochet & knitting skills (no, the glasses are not mine)

And doing some home deco (who doesn't do that)

What would I like to learn?
Being a good and easy going wife (which is hard when one has a bit of a temperament)
Being a good Christian, which is easier said than done
House making skills, and yes, tomorrow I will post two posts: 1 on making laundry detergent from scratch and 1 on creating an easy home made candle gift.
I would love improving the talents I received and discover many more talents that are still hidden in me.
